History

Formed on April 21, 1983, from two existing continuing education associations, one for two-year technical and community colleges and branch campuses of state institutions (OCEC) and the other from the 12 state universities (OCHCE), the new association, OCHEA, created an umbrella organization for all deliverers of continuing higher education based in accredited, non-profit, degree-granting institutions of post, secondary education in Ohio. OCHEA provides a forum for its constituencies — public colleges and universities, private colleges and universities, community and technical colleges, and branch/regional campuses — to address issues of individual interest or of interest to the Association as a whole. OCHEA includes Institutional, Associate and Affiliate members.
