The Association moved into its second decade of service to Ohio’s continuing education professionals under the leadership of the 1993-1994 officers: Terry Callaway (Cuyahoga Community College) as President; Barbara Hanniford (Kent State University) President-Elect; Rita Inman (Findley University) Secretary and Leslie Heaton (Raymond Walters College University of Cincinnati) as Treasurer. The constituency vice presidents were Pat Bower (Tiffin University) Private Colleges and Universities; Lori Gourley (Kent State University) Public Universities; Karen House (Miami University – Hamilton) Branch/Regional Campuses; and Janine Overstreet (Southern State Community College) Technical and Community Colleges.

Serving as committee chairs were Eloise Lafferty ( University of Akron) Awards and Honors; Julie Mitchell (University of Dayton) Communications; Ethel Mae Richards (Stark Technical College) Community and Governmental Relations; Dick Starr (Clark State Community College) Summer Conference; Kathie Albertson (Ohio University – Cambridge) and Carol Ventresca (Ohio State University) Winter Conference; Lori Gourley (Kent State University) Membership; Susan Berry (Washington State Community College) Nominations and Election; Jim Vondrell (University of Cincinnati) Constitution and ByLaws; Lori Gourley (Kent State University) Site selection; Hal Merz (Columbus State Community College) Research and Data Collection; Terry Callway (Kent State University) Special Interest Groups; John R. Loch (Youngstown State University) Historian, Voluntary Professional Credentialling Programs and Oral History Project.

The Association’s accomplishments in 1993-1994 included the sponsorship of two conferences Winter (“Reengineering for the Future: Looking Outside Ourselves”) with 100 attending and Summer (Legal and Ethical Issues in Continuing Higher Education) with 57 attending; the acquisition of a banner depicting the OCHEA logo and label pips with the same logo; hosted a focus group exploring how best to apply the Special Interest Groups to OCHEA; conducted the Leadership Conference with Tom Groves speaking on Small Group Dynamics on October 8, 1993 at the Parke Inn in Columbus, Ohio; printed the updated Constitution and By Laws in the Membership Directory; sponsored Adult and Continuing Education week in Ohio from May 1-7, 1994; and completed the Impact Study sponsored by the Research and Data Collection Committee involving Ohio State University – Lima, Kent State University, University of Cincinnati, Columbus State Community College and UC Raymond Walters College; initiated an oral history project, and finalized “State Requirements for Occupational/Professional Licensing and Continuing Education.” Diskettes (3/93) were sent to each member institution.

The Association presented its OLLO Award to Nora Kegley (Kent State University) at the Winter Conference. The Service to the Association Award was presented to Judy Hirschman (Kent State University). The 1994 Program Innovation Award was presented to C uyahoga Community College (Cullen Johnson) and NASA Lewis Research Center for the Science, Geography, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy (SGMAA).
